REWIND STARTER
Grasp slarler grip as illustrated and pull
slowly until resistance is lelt. Then pull
cord rapidly to overcome compression,
prevent kickback and start engine, Re-
peat if necessary wilh choke opened
slightly. When engine starls, open choke
gradually.

ELECTRIC STARTER
On engines equipped with 12 volt starting systems,
turn key lo "START" positionorpress starter burton.
On engines equipped with 120 voltstarting systems,
press "ON" butlon of conduclor cord's integral "ON-
OFF" switch. The best statler life is provided by us-
ing shorl starting cycles of several seconds. Pro-
P,,_gedcranking (more than 15 seconds per minute)
damage the efarter motor. Allow starter to cool
F j,_ninutes. Release as soon as engine slarts and
gTadua!Jyopen choke.
NOTE: Battery is supplied by equipment manufac-
turer and may require charging belore use.

120 VOLT 12 VOLT
CAUTION: The 120 volt electric starter is
equipped with a three-prong plug for your
safety. The longer prong inthis plug is con-
nected to the starter motorhousing. When
the starter motor is plugged into a properly
grounded receptacle, it will protect the
user from shock should the starter motor
insulation fail Iorany reason. If a longerex-
tension cord is used with this starter, it
should also have three-prong and three-
hole plugs.

Move equipment control to "SLOW" and
then "STOP" position, Turn key to "OFF"
position, If so equipped. Do not choke car-
buretor to stop enGine• Backfire or engine
damage may result ifcarburetor is used to
stop engine.

tended or when equipment is not in use.
